Feeling everything intensely is not a character flaw.

Compassionate support for intense emotions, fear of abandonment, and relationships that swing between too close and too far.

Emotions arrive at full volume and take hours to come down. A small change in someone's tone can feel like the ground giving way. You may love people deeply and still fear they're about to leave — and hate yourself for the ways that fear comes out. Few labels are as misunderstood, or as unfairly shaming, as this one.

The truth is that BPD responds well to treatment, and many people no longer meet the criteria after focused therapeutic work. Together we build emotion-regulation and distress-tolerance skills, work on the fear underneath the reactions, and practice relationships that feel steadier — without you having to become a different person.

As a person-centered therapist, I believe you are the expert of your own life. My role is not to hand down answers or tell you who to be — it is to offer a genuine, accepting, non-judgmental relationship where you feel safe enough to be fully honest with yourself. You set the direction and the pace; evidence-based tools are offered when they serve you, never imposed.

A Moment of Reflection

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • Do emotions hit you harder and last longer than they seem to for others?
  • Do you fear people leaving, even when there's no sign of it?
  • Do relationships swing between very close and suddenly distant?
  • Does your sense of who you are shift depending on who you're with?
  • Do you act on impulse to make unbearable feelings stop?

If you found yourself nodding along, that is not a diagnosis — it is information. You don't need the right words or a clear goal to begin. A safe, non-judgmental space is waiting for you to think out loud — and you decide what we explore, and how fast we go.
