When 'just deal with it' stopped working.
Practical, concrete skills for handling stress, big emotions, and the moments that used to knock you over.
Most of us were never actually taught how to handle hard feelings. We learned to push through, distract ourselves, keep busy, or shut down — and those strategies work until the day they don't. Then the stress starts showing up in your sleep, your body, your patience, and your relationships.
Coping skills are learnable, like any other skill. In therapy you build a practical toolkit — ways to calm your nervous system, interrupt spiraling thoughts, set boundaries, and get through hard moments without making them worse. We choose what fits your life, then practice until it becomes yours.
As a person-centered therapist, I believe you are the expert of your own life. My role is not to hand down answers or tell you who to be — it is to offer a genuine, accepting, non-judgmental relationship where you feel safe enough to be fully honest with yourself. You set the direction and the pace; evidence-based tools are offered when they serve you, never imposed.
Does any of this sound familiar?
- Do you keep going until you suddenly can't anymore?
- Do you numb out — scrolling, snacking, working — instead of feeling?
- Does stress show up in your body before you notice it in your mind?
- Do small setbacks knock you sideways more than they should?
- Do you know what you 'should' do, but can't do it in the moment?
If you found yourself nodding along, that is not a diagnosis — it is information. You don't need the right words or a clear goal to begin. A safe, non-judgmental space is waiting for you to think out loud — and you decide what we explore, and how fast we go.
What you can expect.

Practice, not theory
We rehearse in session so the skills are actually available when you need them.

Hard days still come, but they stop taking whole weeks with them.

- Stress and overwhelm
